NATURAL RESERVE OF LANDES
Born of the order of October 16th, 1970, it extends over a surface of 315 300 hectares and 20 of 41 municipalities which compose it are Girondist.
It is the biggest forest massif of Europe. Its creation results from the will of the community to protect this natural, cultural and linguistic heritage.
The territory of the natural reserve of Landes of Gascony is characterized by 3 landscapes: the forest of pine of Landes, valley of Leyre and maritime landscapes of the Bay of Arcachon as well as 3 big major sites: the ecomuseum of Marquèze, the ornithological park of Teich and the river of Leyre.
